Signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Pan-African Parliament and the Parliament of Malawi

The Pan-African Parliament (PAP) represented by Acting President Hon. Bouras Djamel, and the Parliament of Malawi, represented by Rt. Hon. Catherine Gotani Hara, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Among others, the MoU aims to foster mutual interests between the Pan African Parliament and the Parliament of Malawi. According to the MoU, areas of partnership include promotion/ratification/domestication of AU Treaties and Legal Instruments, High-level Representation, Capacity building and visibility of the PAP.

The five year MoU also enables members of Parliament and parliamentary officials in the two parliaments, in their respective competencies, to work in partnership with the aim of strengthening their capacity and promoting African Union principles, rule of law and respect for human rights.

The MoU was signed on the margins of the official visit to the Republic of Malawi by a high-level delegation of the Pan-African Parliament.
