Communiqué on the ceasefire accord in Libya

The Pan-African Parliament is pleased with the latest developments in Libya and welcomes the ceasefire announced by Prime Minister Fayez Al-Serraj and Speaker of the House of Representatives Aguila Saleh.

The Parliament calls on all parties to comply with the ceasefire, and engage in a constructive and inclusive political dialogue for long-lasting peace in Libya.

The Pan-African Parliament echoes the sentiment by H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat, who described the end of hostilities as an opportunity for  the implementation of the roadmap of the High Level Committee on Libya, adopted by the African Union on 30 January 2020 in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.
